We looking to recruit a Skilled Service and Maintenance Engineer to work in the South of England covering the M1 Corridor and ideally based within the Geographical Region of 20 Branches, covering an area along the M1 corridor from Luton down into north London.
The position would suit a candidate living in or around the following or surrounding areas Luton, Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans and Flitwick.
The successful applicant will be looking after the equipment associated with the Dry cleaning and finishing garments and household items in stores located in High Street & Supermarkets. Full training will be given on the equipment and there is a full 6 month training program. You do not have to have any experience of the cleaning equipment, we are looking for a person with either Electrical, Mechanical, or Service and Maintenance skills that has the desire to transfer those skills into a different sector.
The ideal candidate already be a qualified Service engineer, ideally with electrical experience holding 16th / 17th Edition, and potentially 2391 testing certificate, but this isnt essential.
The position would also suit someone currently site or factory based, who would like to the challenge try multi-site engineering.
The position would suit an Engineer with various multi disciplinary skills such as different types of electro mechanical machinery. As well as a good Electrical / Mechanical background, experience gained in any of the following disciplines would be a further advantage, electronics, hydraulic, pneumatics, gas boilers, steam distribution, heating and refrigeration.
The key is to have a strong electrical background, the rest of the skills can be learnt in the 3 months structure training plan.
The company will train the right candidate on the relevant technical courses they need to service the equipment; this will include Commercial Gas and Refrigeration Courses.
Directly responsible to the Company's Senior Engineer.
Carry out routine preventative maintenance to avoid down time.
Respond to equipment breakdowns within the agreed service times.
Take ownership of work and problems, seeing them through to successful completion
Organise own Diary & Plan day to day workload and prioritise to meet demands of business.
Carry out service visits as per schedules, including Machine and Boiler Annual Services
Carry out regular testing e.g. PAT, Ventilation checks etc
Ensure all company documentation and records are up to date and submitted to the relevant parties on time
Assist with installations, refits, and modifications, and strip outs.
Carry out minor repairs to ancillary shop equipment and fittings. ie water and shop heaters and small plumbing and electrical works.
Order spare parts within agreed limits.
Become a key member of the Regional Business Unit.
Provide telephone support to branches relating to minor equipment problems.
To display a professional image to colleagues and customers at all times.
Technical Requirement – We are flexible on the technical background of the engineer, it can be an electrical qualified person – ideally 17th Edition or refrigeration engineer or an all round factory machine maintenance engineer.
We will look at all technical maintenance engineers and full train them to the correct level and standards. We have a full training programme set up for all new Engineers joining the maintenance team.
The company is offer a basic salary of Circa £32000 (this includes a London Waiting) + Overtime (OTE approx. £38K) + a company Van + Periodic On Call Allowance + 30 days holiday rising to 33 days (inclusive of bank holidays) + Pension + Health Insurance + Mobile Phone + Life Insurance and other benefit associate with a large company.
