UCL is looking to appoint their next Director of the UCL Cancer Institute, a leading institution dedicated to advancing cancer research, treatment, and education. This is an important academic leadership role for one of UCL’s most influential divisions. We are seeking a scientist with a major international reputation in a relevant area of cancer research. The Director will provide strategic leadership and management of the Institute, contributing to the delivery of strategic objectives of the Institute, Faculty and UCL more widely. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to join a globally preeminent Institute who are leading the way in solving real world problems.
We are seeking a world-class academic who is passionate about driving advancements in cancer research and leading a diverse team. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate exceptional academic leadership, a proven ability to navigate a large complex organisation, and a commitment to furthering the Institute’s research standing. They will offer excellent personal organisation skills, and strategic flair. An appreciation for the changes affecting world-leading Higher Education institutions will be important, as will an alignment with UCL’s ethos, mission, and values.
Situated in the heart of London at UCL, the UCL Cancer Institute is a beacon of scientific excellence. With over 400 scientists collaborating across five research departments, our Institute is committed to fostering world-class basic and translational cancer research. UCL Cancer Institute is uniquely structured around departments such as Cancer Biology, Clinical Trials, Haematology, Oncology, and Pathology, reflecting our comprehensive approach to tackling the complexities of cancer.
