Role Summary
Are you looking for a new challenge within a dynamic and ever-changing department? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiology team on Taw Ward as a full-time band 6 Ward Sister/Charge Nurse.
Taw Ward has just recently become a bedded inpatient ward caring for acute/chronically unwell cardiology patients following the recent opening of the Cardiology Day Case unit. Some of the patient's on Taw are awaiting and will have coronary interventions during their stay, therefore a previous knowledge and experience within this area is desirable but not essential as full training can be provided. The expectation will be that you will be competent in basic interpretation of an ECG and in the knowledge and management of cardiology patients undergoing interventions within 6 months of commencement within the role to be able to assist in safely supporting and running the ward.

The successful candidate will work closely with the whole department which comprises a 7 bedded CCU, another inpatient ward, 4 Cath labs and the new day case unit. You will be expected to assist in coordinating the ward and leading and managing the team with the support and oversight of the Clinical Nurse Manager. You will ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in and effective and efficient manner. The role will include assessing, implementing, delivering and evaluating care in connection with the wide MDT and in line with local and national guidelines.

Working Pattern: hours per week. Long days, nights, weekends, bank holidays.
