Job description
We look forward to reading your application for the role of Senior Policy Manager Operation Soteria.
This post sits within the Engagement and Implementation community at the College of Policing, and will deliver workstreams as set by the Head of Violence Against Women and Girls and Operation Soteria Programme Lead.
Operation Soteria is a national Home Office funded research and change programme. We are recruiting for a secondment until March 2025 for a candidate of the rank of Chief Inspector or equivalent to help to define the work needed to evolve the learning from Soteria and assist the College to support policing to deliver transformational change.
We need an experienced manager, with a track record of delivery. This is a great development opportunity to help influence and guide the work needed to transition the NOM into the College and help work with a wider team to ensure key aspects are captured and their longevity and accessibility for policing is achieved in the medium and longer term. Your role will be to develop a plan of works, a resource profile, provide consultancy and expertise around the subject matter, and to ensure the sequencing of current and future activities by identifying relationships and dependencies between the College Soteria work and wider work on public protection.
Two informal drop in sessions will be hosted via Teams on 30 April 2024 between 10:30-11:30 and 1, May 2024 14:00-15:00, where you will receive a presentation from the Soteria lead, input from the Policy and Standards Lead for the Engagement and Implementation Community, this will also give you an opportunity to ask questions about the role. If you would like to attend one of these events please email College Recruitmentfor details.
We know that it may be a challenge for forces to release an entire FTE to be able to allow you to pursue this exciting opportunity, therefore we will happily consider part time and job share as the worksteams can be split to allow for more than one candidate to fill the role. In having discussions about force support for your release, please do highlight the invaluable opportunity this role presents to increase your knowledge around the national strategic approach to public protection, which will put you in a position to bring useful knowledge back into you force around a key strategic priority for policing.
