The Post:
An exciting opportunity to provide the professional leadership to a group of national clinical audit nurses has arisen within Public Health Scotland’s Clinical & Protecting Health Directorate.
The successful candidate will be required to support the Service Manager in ensuring that the revalidation of the nurses is successfully achieved. The senior nurse will mentor the National Clinical Coordinators and Regional Coordinators on maintaining a national audit structure across Scotland ensuring that the results of the audits/ registers are disseminated and acted upon at a clinical level by establishing cooperative relationships within multi-disciplinary teams responsible for the delivery of care. They will also be required to aid in the development and implementation a career framework for NMAHPs working in audit. And in the wider team development of clinical education and training programmes to ensure that those collecting the data have a secure knowledge base to provide the correct level of support to the improvement programme set by the National Clinical Coordinator, specialist Steering Groups and the Scottish Government National Audit Programme Board (Health).
The Candidate:
The successful candidate is required to demonstrate significant leadership experience in a senior clinical role and have a flexible, supportive and motivational management style. They should be able to work with multidisciplinary teams across Scotland whilst working very closely with senior Government and clinical colleagues in a fast-paced environment of change. It is desirable that applicants are educated to degree level in a life science; essential that they hold the appropriate professional registration and have demonstrable experience in clinical audit.
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme check. Any candidate who has lived/worked overseas for more than 12 months in the preceding 5 years will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Candidates must have current NMC registration at the time of applying.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Central Quay, Glasgow.
Please note that PHS will be relocating from Central Quay, Glasgow to Bothwell Street, Glasgow in September 2024.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Sunday, 37 hours per week however PHS supports flexible working and we are happy to discuss requests for alternative working patterns.
During times of public health emergency, or other urgent business need, you may be required on a temporary basis to work your normal contracted working hours over 7 days including weekends, in order to meet the needs of the service.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with PHS.
