The Senior Activity Leader role is an and exciting position at one of our fast-paced Twin Summer Centres across the UK and Ireland. You will assist the Activity Manager in overseeing the implementation of the Activity and Excursion Programme, running from breakfast to lights out, for international students under the age of 18*. You will perform as an experienced Activity Leader running an engaging Activity and Welfare programme while taking on the Activity Manager role in their absence. You will be fully trained and supported by our experienced Summer Centres Head Office Team, reporting to the Activity Manager on site, supporting a team of enthusiastic Activity Leaders in the day-to-day operation. The role of Senior Activity Leader is the perfect opportunity to gain some team leading experience within an international setting. You will use your initiative, creativity, and organisational skills to deliver a stimulating, action-packed programme to our customers from all over the world. 2024 Centres: Canterbury, St Edmund's School, Dublin, Kings Hospital School, Ireland, Edinburgh, Loretto School, Scotland, Gloucester, University of Gloucester, Oxtalls, London Docklands, University of East London, London Kingston, Kingston University, Wellington College, Crowthorne. Contract: Temporary Hours: Various *Some centres may include international high school students who turn 18 before their arrival at the summer centre, there will be appropriate provision and safeguarding measures in place to accommodate them on which you will be fully trained. Responsibilities: Safeguard and promote the well-being of all students on site. Supervise and participate actively in all activities, walking tours and excursions. Live on-site for the duration of the contract on a 6-day-per-week rotation; Full Board and Accommodation is provided. Attend a paid two-day face-to-face training event prior to the start of the summer (dates TBC). Assist the Activity Manager in overseeing the implementation of the Activity Programme maintaining high levels of quality in the delivery thereof. Actively promote the Activity Programme maintaining and ensuring the inclusion and participation of all students. Support and guide all Activity Leaders, ensuring activities and excursions are delivered on time and in a highly exciting and engaging manner. Taking charge of activity equipment in the office, ensuring there is sufficient stock. Preparing the activity venue along with the activity leaders prior to each activity. Ensuring Activity leaders have registers and are fully aware of the risk assessments prior to each activity Learning all activities and excursion plans ahead of the programme in order to act as the main leader for all activities. Assisting in running of excursion/ walking tour, activity and staff meetings, and keeping meeting minutes. Implementing client feedback in line with company-approved policies and procedures. Promote the use of English amongst students at all times. Actively ensure all students and staff are wearing lanyards at all times. Maintain and promote positive student behaviour. Comply with health and safety at all times. Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required by the company. Education /Qualification GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at Grade C or above. Desirable, but not essential skills and experience: First Aid Certificate completed within the last three years. Experience of working with under 18s. Experience of managing a team. Customer service experience. Educated to degree level or currently working towards a degree. Additional Information: Senior Activity Leaders are paid £680 - £801 per week in the UK, and €760 - €889 in Ireland depending on the size of the centre and previous experience, plus accrued holiday pay of 12.07% in the UK and 8% in Ireland. Each week includes 1 day off. You will be: Eligible to work in the UK and/or Ireland. Aged 18 or over. Be committed to safeguarding and the promotion of student welfare. Native or C1 level of English. Excellent organisational skills. Ability to lead and motivate a team. Flexible and able to manage priorities. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Please Note: The successful candidate must be able to work in the UK or Ireland.
