Production Engineer

Fantastic opportunity for a forward-thinking Production Engineer to join a successful manufacturer and work as part of a team of talented Engineers supporting a diverse, technically innovate product range.

The company produce niche, technically complex equipment and have a reputation for quality, world class products. They have continued to diversify their already broad product range and have some exciting new products coming to market, as such they are looking for an additional Production Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background to undertake a key role in Production.

As Production Engineer you will utilise your engineering expertise to support the Production Engineering Manager with day to day shop floor engineering support, input into new product development projects (NPI) and any opportunities for new technologies or continuous improvements are explored. As such, it will be a varied, fast-paced role with no two days the same.

Key responsibilities as Production Engineer will include:

Input into new product introduction from a DFM perspective
Day to day shop floor engineering support to production
Identifying and then driving lean / continuous improvement of existing products / processes and identification of cost reduction opportunities
Utilising your industry knowledge oy identify areas where new technology can be incorporated into operations
Devising manufacturing routing & writing standard operating procedures for build and test
Designing and introducing assembly equipment & tooling / jigs & fixtures
Establishing standard assembly times through work assessments
Production of technical engineering reports

To succeed in this role, you will ideally be HND / degree or equivalent qualified in an engineering discipline with an electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing background. A background in the support of new products / NPI and a passion for improving technology would be ideal.
