The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr. Akshay Bhinge. This MRC funded post is available immediately until 31st May 2027. The successful applicant will work with Dr. Bhinge in understanding the role of RNA dysregulation in motor neuron disease.
About you
The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or be nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able to culture and differentiate human iPSCs into motor neurons and use these for phenotypic characterizations. The candidate will also be proficient in using R for analysing RNA-seq and imaging data. Additionally, experience working with microRNAs and RNA-binding proteins is highly desirable.
