The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for performing the full cycle, end to end payroll and benefits function for Dr. Oetker Canada Ltd. This position will be fully responsible for accurate and timely processing of all Canadian &
Your Future:
• Independently manage full cycle, end to end payrolls for all positions in both union and non-unionized environments.
• Processing for hourly, salaried and contract employees within various pay cycles.
• Onboarding, offboarding and maintaining current employee data within the ADP WFN system.
• Manage various pension and benefit accounts including registrations and updates to related changes of current employee base; updating deduction and contribution rates and reconciliations between vendor record, payroll and accounting, and filing of all 3rd party contributions and premiums.
• Prepare and post journal entries into the general ledger via SAP.
• Manage and reconcile accounts related to payroll deductions and contributions within the general ledger.
• Partner with the Payroll & Benefits Manager and the People & Culture Team to support project management, efficiency initiatives, compliance and reporting.
• Manage and respond to payroll and benefit related inquiries.
Your Strengths:
• Professional payroll designation, minimum (PCP) preferred.
• Extensive hands on experience using ADP WorforceNow preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office with advanced skills in Excel.
• Strong knowledge of legislative compliance.
• Exposure to payroll processing and policy compliance within a unionized environment.
• Some SAP experience.
• Good systems acumen.
• Excellent communicator with a keen awareness of appropriate internal and external interaction.
• Accounting experience (a/p, a/r, reconciling to g/l) preferred.
• Team oriented with a strong level of personal accountability.
• 5 years of payroll and benefits processing experience preferred.
• Ability to manage large volume with close attention to detail within strict timelines and a high level of accuracy.
• Acute awareness of working in compliance with both internal and external policies and legislative requirements.
• Acute Problem solving skills with the ability to identify where and when corrections are required and the ability to take initiative.
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision; and to identify and utilize available resources.
