POSITION:
The Managing Director role offers both autonomy and scope for growth with support from the Jonas Group. In particular, working closely with the Jonas Group Director, the purpose of this role is to plan, direct and manage the performance of the Company as dictated by the overall strategy to maintain and develop business growth.
The role has overall responsibility for business strategy and execution for JMS. Bringing the teams to focus on the ultimate growth of the group, developing individuals, and guiding the business through the coming years with development of a product strategy.
The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking, dedicated, focused, and dynamic individual with solid leadership and strategy skills and software industry knowledge. They should have a good knowledge of the metals and or manufacturing sector, preferably having been involved in companies developing or deploying ERP solutions.
They must be confident, innovative, and visionary with business acumen and political savvy. Ability to listen to ideas and formulate and execute plans accordingly. Having a get-involved ethos with a robust analytical bias is advantageous to be successful in this role.
In this key role, you will ensure that Company goals are met promptly by efficiently and effectively managing personnel and resources. You will work closely with a very established and knowledgeable team. The post requires strong multi-tasking, organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Applicants will need to have an excellent Internet connection, preferably fiber-based or 5g, as the position is based remotely.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Managing Director will report to a Jonas Group Director and will be responsible for:
The financial and resource planning for all aspects of JMS
Ensuring the business is financially sound, well managed, and achieves key targets
Directing and managing employees and resources to meet business objectives within budget
Working with the management teams for each group to develop a company vision and mission for each business
Building effective teams through hiring, professionally developing, and retaining high-quality, high-integrity business leaders and functional leaders who are solid and market-current, technical, commercial, and project management and can deliver sustainable improvement (growth and profitability) results
Overseeing the welfare and development of all employees
Develop and resource a long-range overall systematic business and product evolution roadmap for the group
Developing the product strategy and ensuring delivery against a published roadmap
Ensuring a high standard of work and customer service
Building relationships with industry partners and alliances, principally across the Global Metals sector
Implementing risk management policies to address strategic, operational and legislative compliance risks
Ensuring company directives are executed successfully, and company policies and procedures are adhered to and are in line with current legislation and regulations.

Operational
Develop and oversee win-win relationships with key customers and partners to maximise long-term commercial success for all parties and to find creative solutions to challenges/problems as they occur
Ensure alignment of each business and functional department’s KPIs with corporate targets, and professionally develop each functional leader to embrace and execute best practices in the market
A robust talent management process is adopted to attract and retain talent, ensure strong employee engagement, implement succession plans to manage risks, embrace scalability, and harvest up-and-coming talent
Function as a change agent for the businesses we acquire as we seek to add significant value by introducing our global best practices
Tracking & reporting – conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings to promote teamwork, align priorities, and strive for ongoing solid performance improvement, forecasting accuracy and data integrity
Provide quarterly analysis of ongoing business performance
A proven track record of growing a business by developing and implementing successful sales initiatives
Extensive hands-on experience building and maintaining long-lasting relationships with a broad range of clients from small businesses through to major corporate businesses
The ability to resolve high-level, complex customer complaints in a diplomatic and professional manner
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to form real connections with people from diverse professional backgrounds – from interns through to Manager Director.
Financial Results
Experience in financial management and establishing controls and balances to minimise financial risk
Proven track record in meeting and/or exceeding revenue and profit targets
Experience designing and managing bonus, commissions and reward schemes.
General
Experience in developing, implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures
The ability to support the executive team to make informed decisions on behalf of shareholders
Knowledge of statutory, legal and contractual obligations
Contract negotiations and frameworks with both suppliers and customers.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Ideally possesses a University degree / academic mindset or qualified by experience
At least ten years of experience relevant to this position, ideally with experience in management positions and software/technology
Knowledge of manufacturing systems and software, preferably with first-hand experience in the fabrication or structural sector.
Analytical skills combined with a well-structured, collaborative and bold approach
Project management skills and ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams
Track record of dealing with operational improvements change, and bringing diverse groups together to work successfully
Have proven experience of managing multiple conflicting priorities to meet strategic deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Performance-driven, strategic thinker with a financial/data focus and healthy risk appetite
Self-starting individual with a high focus on autonomy
Interested in details and executing process improvements to drive results
Organisational skills. Ability to plan workload effectively, delegate, and work autonomously when needed
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills
Full clean driving license, as the role requires travel
Ability to attend meetings internally and with customers and suppliers in various locations around the world, a valid passport will be required
