<b>Overview</b><br><br>This postholder will be a member of the EMEA Finance team. They will be responsible for providing analytics to the EMEA Chemistry team. They will be expected to present information clearly, accurately and in a meaningful way offering insights to support profitable growth. They will work closely with the other European business partners, Key business stakeholder, Finance teams and Cross-Functional project teams. <br><br>The post holder will be expected to commit to Waters vision that decisions and actions are guided by two simple words - Deliver Benefit. You have a winning mindset and don't hesitate to change the status quo. <br><br><b>Responsibilities</b><br><br><strong>Business performance analysis </strong><br><ul><li>Review and analyse historical, planned, and current financial data to understand the business and identify the main drivers to assist management in decision making process. </li><li>Performance analysis (sales, cos, and margins) at the required level to monitor trends. </li><li>Implement variance analysis, for sales and margins to highlight the key factors affecting the growth and performance</li><li>Build and maintain dashboard to track performance against KPIs<strong>. </strong></li><li>Seize opportunities to improve trade margins through cost of sales analysis. </li><li>Focus on expense analysis (variable and fixed) to drive contribution margins.</li><li>Support pricing analysis and discount monitoring and liaise with EMEA Pricing Specialist on day-to-day activity and annual pricing reviews.</li><li>Track Sales, Units, Cost and Margins current data to alert the European business partners in case of deviation and work together on recommendations for improving the business operations.</li><li>Assess evolving business ideas with EMEA business partners to provide priorities for maximum ROI and added value.</li><li>Manage sales incentive plans, provide analysis to determine parameters. Calculate quarterly results providing details for payment to accounting and payroll. </li></ul><strong> Business planning </strong><br><ul><li>Provide detailed explanations for Revenue, COS and Margins as part of monthly reporting. </li><li>Monitor and resolve system inconsistencies.</li><li>Participate with analytical support to EMEA Finance Leadership team or Global Finance teams on various projects.</li><li>Support monthly forecasting working to improve process and improve accuracy. </li><li>Work closely with business managers and finance business partners on Annual Operating Plan (AOP) preparation for sales, cost of sales and trade margins and expenses.</li><li>Work on ad hoc requirements, providing analytical and insights. </li></ul><br><strong>Tools and process </strong><br><ul><li>Provide support on SAP, BW, Excel and Power BI as an expert resource. </li><li>Assess options for process improvement, including business process modelling.</li><li>Working on the improvement of existing reporting and converting existing Excel based reporting to Power BI.</li><li>Develop effective tools and dashboards.</li><li>Develop methods and strategies for assessing large amounts of data.</li><li>Implement best practices utilizing previous experience. </li></ul><br><b>Qualifications</b><br><br>The successful candidate is likely to show the following behaviours<strong>:</strong><br><br><ul><li><strong>A self-starting mind-set,</strong> able to look ahead, innovate and continually improve agility and adaptable - is comfortable that change is a constant and can adapt actions and thinking to suit different conditions or situations.</li><li><strong>Collaboration & team-work</strong> - possess the ability to listen, share information and works effectively with team members to accomplish goals.</li><li><strong>Communication</strong> - able to express ideas clearly, effectively and with meaning. Including the ability to apply creative and unconventional solutions to complex problems. </li><li><strong>Agility </strong>- Able to show flexibility, openness, and a willingness to respond according to the situation.</li></ul><ul><li><strong>Hands on</strong> <strong>and Positive attitude</strong>: 'Can do' approach and willing to give everything a go from manual processing to cross company global projects.</li></ul><br>Knowledge, Education and Experience<br><ul><li>Hold a master's degree in business/finance or computer science. </li><li>Excellent analytical skills.</li><li>Expert knowledge in Office 365, including Excel, business warehouse and Power BI.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and additional European language would be beneficial. </li><li>3-5 years' experience working in a commercial environment preferably in the Life sciences industry. </li></ul>Location & Travel:<br><br>This position can be based anywhere in Europe close to an international airport and a Waters facility.
