We look forward to reading your application for the role of Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Advisor.�
The selected candidate will work in partnership to provide or enable support to those working in policing, through setting standards, sharing knowledge and good practice and supporting professional development.�
You will contribute to improving knowledge and practice within a College professional community, offering practical support for policing in line with the College strategies and business plan.
In this role you will provide specialist knowledge to support and inform the College�s plans for Diversity and Inclusion. Drawing on promising practice in policing and elsewhere to develop, implement and coordinate a range of projects/initiatives across policing to improve Diversity and Inclusion.�
Person specification
Some of your responsibilities will include:
� � �Developing and maintaining external networks of contacts and engage and work with staff network groups representing the protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010 to provide assurance that concerns are understood, addressed and, where appropriate, mitigated in College programmes and initiatives to improve D & I in policing.
� � �Taking responsibility for a group of D & I leads in forces and staff networks. �Work with stakeholders up to Executive/Chief Officer level in each force to support the implementation of the National Police Chiefs Council Diversity, Equality and Inclusion strategy and College D & I plans.
� � �Drafting, preparing, designing and delivering reports (quantitative and qualitative) to provide advice, information and support to internal and external stakeholders (including, but not limited to College SMT, NPCC, APCC and staff networks) on progress, implementation and outcomes of College plans for D & I.
To be successful in this role you�ll need:
� � �Experience and evidence of working successfully with stakeholders, influencers and decision makers at strategic and operational levels to develop and implement strategies and policies to develop and put into practice key principles of Diversity and Inclusion and of the Equality Act 2010. �
� � �Up-to-date subject matter expertise with evidence of CPD including thorough understanding of relevant diversity and inclusion related good practice in employment and learning and development.
� � �Comprehensive knowledge and solid understanding of key principles of the Equality Act 2010.�
