Group Professional Services encompasses Consultancy in the UK & France together with the Project practices across the UK, France and Germany. We are made up of over 1,000 skilled practitioners with deep expertise across core technologies and industry standard architecture and project management methodologies.
As a Presales Technical Architect, you will deliver presales to our customers and prospects in the public cloud space. Mainly working across Azure and AWS you will evangelise Computacenter and our public cloud offerings.
As a key customer facing role, you’ll need proven skills in gathering requirements and designing complex solutions to enterprise or public sector organisations. This role is UK based and will involve travel to Computacenter and client sites across the United Kingdom.
Where you’ll fit in:
• You’ll be part of the Public Cloud Practice, within the UK Professional Services function, supporting the business in presales engagements.
• You’ll have clear areas of accountability and will be given appropriate autonomy to lead customer engagements.
• You’ll also form part of a wider presales and consultancy community and will have the opportunity to actively contribute to initiatives aligned to team, community or the wider practice.
• You will have the public cloud and DevOps knowledge necessary to perform effectively and take actions to develop your own knowledge.
What you’ll do
• Design public cloud solutions for customers consistently and with quality, using our methodologies and processes.
• Define solutions, technologies and standards to best practice within the public cloud and adjacent technology towers.
• Produce high quality documentation and assure deliverables are produced with consistency and accuracy.
• Host customer meetings to present solutions from a technical and implementation perspective.
• Highlight technical risks that may impact the success of the solutions for our clients.
• Provide thought leadership for peers, internal clients, our customers and partners.
• Maintain an active and engaged technical community in support of relevant areas of expertise.
• Maintain a high level of industry awareness through training and self-development, provide both market and technical evaluation of emerging technologies.

Core Technical Skills:
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise and real-world experience in helping businesses adopt and modernise their public cloud environments. As this is primarily a presales role the successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to stakeholders of all levels and be able to demonstrate an analytical and methodical approach with great problem-solving skills.
The following areas are key:
• Public cloud platforms (AWS and Azure – GCP is nice to have)
• DevOps Tooling (IaC, Automation, Orchestration, CI/CD, Testing etc.)
• Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring (Metrics & Logs)
• IT fundamentals (Networking, Compute, Storage, Database, Backup/DR etc.)
