Job description
A Tutor is required to support a Year 11 student who is studying Functional Skills Maths and English (Level 2). The student is on roll at an Alternative Provision but does not attend on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, therefore we require someone to support her from 10am – 2pm on these two days, until the end of the academic year.The tutor will be able to also liaise with her current alternative provision to ensure a holistic approach to her education is implemented. The student also has an interest inChild development, Media Studies and ICT so these subjects could also be explored with her.Tutors will be:
Experienced delivering 1:1 sessions ideally to LAC children, in particular delivering Functional Skills Maths and EnglishExperienced working with SEMH and students with anxietyExperienced and confident managing challenging behaviour/disengagementConfident to deliver creative and engaging lessons to help motivate the studentAble to professionally liaise with the residential home staff to ensure progress and behaviour is monitored closely and effectivelyDedicated to providing a weekly feedback form to send to the Local Authority, ensuring attendance and progress is monitoredCommitted to communicating effectively with Teaching Personnel to alert us of any changes or amendments to the booking or timetableBe committed to the needs of the child and maintain an open minded, flexible approach that will support the ever changing needs of Looked After Children at all timesWilling and able to offer a nurturing approach to build up a positive relationship with this extremely vulnerable student
