We are looking for an experienced and committed environmental professional to join us as our new Sustainability Manager, to drive forward our ambitions and to deliver real change for our people and places.
Our sustainability team is at the heart of our programme to shape and deliver a new, resilient future for Lincolnshire. We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to lead our small and dedicated team, forging stronger relationships with our partners and supporting councillors to engage with the environmental and carbon reduction agenda.
You will play a key role in shaping and in implementing our new Green Master Plan – our roadmap for achieving net carbon neutrality by 2050 – enhancing delivery of our successful Carbon Management Plan, and creating a wide-ranging approach to embedding sustainable practices across all council services and with our partners.
We are ambitious that our approach should be more than just reducing carbon emissions – we want to make sure that environmental work across the county is joined up, supporting sustainable development, a vibrant visitor economy and working with colleagues to ensure that the Council is at the forefront of achieving better for all who work in, live in and visit Lincolnshire.
This role is growing in profile, and will be subject to high levels of public and political scrutiny, and will be central to the future plans of many different organisations.
It will offer opportunities for the right candidate to achieve in a fast growing and nationally important area of policy. To meet the complex challenges that this will bring you will need to be a strategic thinker, but pragmatic about how and when things can be achieved on the ground. You will have well-developed skills of negotiation and persuasion, and you will be a people person – able to empathise with many divergent views while staying focused on the long term goals of the County Council.

We are offering a competitive salary of £43,662 – £50,430, along with a pension, a comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes, cycle to work, civil service sports council membership and many areas for professional support and development.
