We are one of the UK’s leading providers of care for those with Learning Disabilities, whether that be residential or supporter living. We specialise in supporting our service users to live a full and meaningful life. We are looking for passionate individuals to join our fantastic service and team, to support our service users’ development in all areas of their lives.
We support nearly 800 people with learning disabilities or brain injuries by ensuring that options, independence and personal choice are key to our service users’ success. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect, dignity and provided the opportunity to progress in life. We’re incredibly proud of the fact that every service we operate is rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ with CQC.
You will be responsible for supporting the services users, we work with each person to provide them with individual and specific goals, whether that be education, developing relationships, care plans or helping them integrate with the wider world (through activities or volunteer opportunities). A huge part of what you’ll do is be a friend to them; you’ll be someone that listens and genuinely cares. You’ll get involved with helping people live they life they want live; that could be taking them to the shops, helping them manage their finances, provide reports on their progress and some personal care and giving medication where required.
You’ll build strong relationships with our service users so you’ll have a good sense of humour, patience, dedication and most importantly you care! Of course, you’ll be independent, honest and determined to set a good example.
As much as you’ll help us look after our residents, we’ll look after you – most people stay with us for at least 5 years! We have a generous benefits package available to all of our staff and we’re actively looking to develop people. If you want to achieve NVQ qualifications we’ll be more than happy to help you, we’re always looking to promote internally as well!
