Are you a New Homes Site Manager looking for a new challenge? Thatcher associates are working alongside established regional developer based in the South West who are looking to recruit local talent in the West Dorset region.

I am searching for a experienced Site Manager based in or around the West Dorset region who has previous experience working on small to medium sized residential schemes. You will be the main point of contact for all site team, building contractors, and planning engineers throughout the project.

As the lead Site Manager you will also be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the scheme and managing the directly employed trades team to ensure they meet agreed SLA’s, timescales, costs, and quality.

This is a growing business who have multiple sites due to start construction over the next few months in and around the Somerset and Dorset regions. They specialise in smaller high-spec housing and don’t work to a standard house type. Main responsibilities:

– Overseeing health and safety is being implemented to appropriate standards;
– Take complete responsibility for your own projects, representing the client, offering advice to project manage the design and construction teams from initial concept through to final handover;
– You will manage budgets, facilitate and lead the value management and value engineering management, stakeholder management, have experience of administering projects etc;
– Contribute to work planning, and brief project teams, contractors, and suppliers;
– Passing any extra work to be done within set timescales;
– Supply information to resolve disputes if they arise;
– Identify areas of concern and finding solutions for existing contracting processes;
– Overseeing health and safety is being implemented to appropriate standards;

Skills:

– Good organisational skills;
– Client facing skills;
– You will be able to work as part of a team and individually showing initiative as required by the scheme you are working on;
– Able to project manage from inception to completion throughout the whole scheme life cycle;
– Commercial awareness and an ability to establish and maintain good working relationships;
– Strong maths and computer skills;

Essential Requirements:

– SMSTS
– CSCS CARD
– FIRST Aid Card
– HNC/ HND or degree equivalent
– Ideally, have worked on both large housing schemes and high-rise developments
