A Senior Mechanical Engineer is sought for a vibrant Cambridge start-up company who are using their pioneering technology to support principles of sustainability in manufacturing. Their digital technology will significantly reduce the amount of waste and CO2 produced in the manufacture of state-of-the-art materials and coatings. This has potential to positively impact industries such as textiles, ceramics, food and electronics.
The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the continuing development of specialised digital fluid system control equipment. They should be skilled in CAD, have experience in designing and building prototypes as well as taking those products through to manufacture. They will thrive working in cross-functional teams, knowing their expertise and contributions will have tangible, positive, real-world outcomes.
Whilst based in our client’s modern R&D centre in Cambridge, travel to support teams based in Asia may also be necessary in this position.
Experience and skills necessary for this role:
At least five years of commercial experience in manufacturing and product development, backed by a good technical degree (2.1 or above) from a well-respected university
Complex control systems and automation experience
Product design, machine design and CAD (SolidWorks) experience
Fluid system design
Design for test, regulatory control and manufacture
Full permission to live and work in the UK without time limit, restriction or sponsorship is also required.
