A school in Macclesfield is looking for a PE Teacher to join the team on a temporary basis. The role will involve the delivery of high quality sessions, across a broad range of ages. It is essential that as this is a specialist role, that the given individual:
Holds QTS.A degree in a Sport related subject is very desirable.Additional qualifications in the teaching of specific sports, or prior experience in coaching is also important.
Furthermore:
It is crucial that the individual is able to effectively deliver the schools curriculum, whilst being able to independently implement their own strategies and methods to allow students to thrive within the subject.It is also of high importance that the required applicant is able to effectively differentiate learning for those with SEN, as well as for those whose primary language is not English.It is vital that the candidate is able to consistently manage behaviour expectations, as well as working in line with recommendations made by Ofsted. The given applicant will be able to work well within a team environment, and will be motivated and enthusiastic within their approach.The required candidate will try and instil a culture that is driven by the benefits of health, exercise and fitness.Being able to display resilience and patience within this role is crucial naturally, not all students will be as engaged as some.
The role will commence after the Easter break, and will run until the end of the academic year. It is also important to note that that there may be opportunity for this position to extend into the new academic year in September.Other aspects of the role include:
Competence in the delivery lessons across a wide range of Sports, as well as managing several teams, potentially competing against other schools.Monitoring attendance, as well as being attentive in ensuring that students have the correct equipment needed to participate in a PE session.Engaging with students across a wide range of ages, abilities and backgrounds.
Pay between GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 dependant on prior experience.The school is located in Macclesfield, not far from Manchester city centre. There are several motorway links close by, as well as numerous public transport links.
