A high calibre graduate in Biochemistry / Biology/ Chemistry / Medicinal Chemistry/ Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Chemistry is urgently required for a desk based writing/ editing investigative researching role. The editors are responsible for finding and carrying out detailed analysis, editing and updating a world class database / editorials with pharmaceutical information from press releases and websites as well as information from interviews and analyst reports.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver insightful and invaluable research and analysis:
Carry out research as well as conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis of R&D pipelines
Develop relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders to ensure offerings & services exceed customer expectations
Support product development activities:
Work with the team R&D lead to enhance the product offering
Support collaborative content development:
Work with the other offering groups within the Analytics team to generate invaluable collaborative analytical content
Responsibilities
Write quality R&D news and summaries and contribute in maintaining the R&D Intelligence database up-to-date
Gather relevant and primary information on drug development from all sources including: press releases & briefings, company websites, national and international scientific and commercial conferences, financial reports, regulatory websites, company phone calls etc
Develop contacts with the Pharma/Biotech industry to establish a good relationship to encourage flow of information to R&D Intelligence
Attend scientific and business conferences to gather information to be included in the database and insights to be reported in a post-conference newsletter
Support ongoing development activities with Global Market Insight group
Work closely with other team members to provide expertise in new drug development and new chemical entities
Project manage and quality control drug profile content created by the wider R&D Intelligence team
Skills and Qualifications required:
A minimum 2:1 degree science related
Commercial experience of medical writing and/or healthcare market analysis
Ability to understand and analyse scientific preclinical and clinical information
Good knowledge of the drug development process and regulations
Strong secondary research skills
Advanced analytical ability
Strong IT skills, particularly working in excel
Strong project management skills – ability to multitask and deliver to tight deadlines
Excellent English language writing and oral communication skills
Additional language (Mandarin or Spanish/Portuguese) would be an advantage but not a prerequisite
Ability to deliver content as part of a team, including working with remote analysts and/or contractors
