The role:
This is a full time permanent role, Monday to Friday based in Bristol or Dublin.
Candidate must have strong knowledge of the Republic of Ireland market
The Marketing Manager (Ireland) is responsible for delivering marketing activities for – Smiles Dental in the Republic of Ireland (ROI) and Bupa Dental Care in N. Ireland – to support continued business growth. The role will lead the day to day management of all marketing-related activity as well as supporting the Senior Marketing Manager in brand planning and strategic initiatives. The role covers an estate of circa. 50 dental practices.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the annual Smiles Dental marketing plan to support business growth objectives.
    • Organise and lead the annual Smiles planning process, gathering input from across the business and gaining approvals from senior stakeholders
    • Deliver the activity in the plan (ranging from radio, to press, to social to web updates – and more) – creating effective campaign briefs and work collaboratively with the team to deliver engaging, integrated marketing plans
    • Manage the campaign planning process to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and within budget
    • Engage with subject matter experts for input and ensure compliance of all assets
    • Brief the practices on activity, targets and tracking
    • Evaluate all campaigns and activity against clear and measurable KPIs and effectively communicate results to key stakeholders
    • Budget planning and management required
    • Manage key agency and supplier relationships
  • Manage the Smiles Dental website and social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) collaborating with the Digital team
    • Maintain the Smiles website including content updates and digital agency management
    • Manage Smiles social media working with the Social Media team to create engaging content and a yearly plan
  • Develop local marketing plans for circa. 15 per quarter to develop growth.
    • Work closely with a discreet number of practices to identify local marketing opportunities (a local market knowledge is key here)
    • Coach the practices to complete activity
    • Support and co-create activity within the plans – from briefing the create team to execution
    • Manage the MI and post activity evaluation
  • Work collaboratively with the 50 practices and operational leads to identify opportunities and areas of growth
  • Drive the Smiles Dental and Bupa Dental Care marketing agenda and pro-actively engage key stakeholders and practices
    • Be the Marketing representative at ROI Monthly board meeting
    • Work collaboratively with the ROI Area Manager to understand performance challenges and opportunities and identify marketing solutions
    • Understand local practice needs and provide marketing training/expertise
  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager to develop the Smiles Dental brand DNA (including our growing specialist orthodontics business) including brand identity, tone of voice, positioning to ensure the brand remains modern and relevant to new and existing customers.
  • Support the Senior Marketing Manager in developing customer-centric understanding and ensure they are embedded in brand activities
    • Customer journey and customer experience
  • Liaise with the Senior Marketing Manager Integration on Ireland integration activities
    • Input into new acquisition activities to ensure on-brand and aligned with overall brand plan
  • Manage £200k+ Marketing budget for Ireland
    • Own the day to day management of the Smiles marketing budget
    • Manage the local marketing budgets for practices with dedicated spend
    • Manage accruals, phasing and attend monthly reviews
  • Team development
    • Support the Senior Marketing Manager to establish robust processes and ways of working within the brand team to ensure effective delivery of marketing programmes
    • Work with fellow Marketing Managers to leverage experience and learnings
    • Role model personal leadership behaviours

What we’re looking for:
Essential:

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent
  • At least 5 years marketing experience with experience in campaign and communications management
  • Strong knowledge of the ROI market
  • Multi-channel experience – radio, press, D2D, website management, PPC, social media
  • Analytical and commercial – able to make commercial decisions that will positively impact the bottom line
  • Excellent planning and organisational abilities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Pro-active self-tarter with a can-do attitude; uses initiative to make things happen
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Negotiating and managing sign off with Compliance and Legal
  • Budget management experience
  • Ability to travel across ROI and N.Ireland (must hold a valid driving license)
  • Understand of the Irish market and marketing opportunities essential
