Our client are a FTSE 100 manufacturer, with multiple worldwide production facilities. The company culture is one that heavily utilizes the Continuous Improvement model and due to a recent restructure requires a number of Manufacturing Shift Team Leaders to assist with an exciting period of multi-million pound investment for the business at their site just outside Chester.
Manufacturing Shift Team Leader
25-32k + Excellent Pension, 25days Holiday, Bonus up to 7%, Death in Service, Healthcare, Subsidized Canteen
This role is Monday to Friday based but works on 2 shifts, A shift and B shift, you will work 1 week of A shift and the following week of B shift.
A shift – 5.55am : 1.55pm
B shift – 1.55pm : 9.55pm
Our client are a FTSE 100 manufacturer, with multiple worldwide production facilities. The company culture is one that heavily utilizes the Continuous Improvement model and due to a recent restructure requires a number of Manufacturing Shift Team Leaders to assist with an exciting period of multi-million pound investment for the business at their site just outside Chester. The company are a keen advocate of employee engagement and Kaizen CI processes to work as a collective to develop new and existing products and processes that change the lives of their customers in over 100 countries.
The site contains around 400 employees and have just undertaken a major restructure to help them meet new targets and satisfy existing production requirements. This company are currently in the process of adding a number of new production lines to allow them to increase the number of new products the site can manufacture, to meet global demand, meaning it’s a great time to join the company, add value and really make a difference.
You’ll be working to drive the production teams to hit their respective targets with an exceptionally high standard controlling quality on a right first time basis. You’ll preferably come from a background which promoted continuous improvement within your particular lines. You’ll probably oversee 3 or 4 lines producing multiple thousand products in any one given shift.
Your aim is to meet all targets put in front of you, including financial, wastage, service, quality and of course health and safety. You’ll work closely to your first line manager to discuss performance and customer service levels and think of new strategies to make improvements. You’ll obviously have natural leadership ability and see areas where you can develop people and push your team to succeed whenever possible. You will ensure you have regular discussion with the team on risk, safety, and workplace inspections to keep high standards. You will also handle any HR issues. You’ll get to integrate your knowledge with the senior CI Black Belts and be part of smaller project based team on small and medium sized projects as the company go through this period of investment.
First of all you will have a desire to work for a FTSE 100 company with a family feel and add value. You’ll come with natural leadership skills within a production or manufacturing environment, this can be from FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Automotive or other associated industries.
You’ll understand that this role means you’ll oversee operators and process engineers who are hands-on, working on the production line, but also cover maintenance and process. You’ll oversee this over a few different production lines on the site and get involved in the development of the new lines due to be installed and running by April.

Understanding of 5’s, Kaizen or Lean would be an advantage but not essential
Understanding of Six Sigma or WCM would be an advantage but not essential
This role has a salary of 25 – 32k
Up to 7% bonus
