The Financial Reporting Council (FRC)’s mission is to serve the public interest by setting high standards of corporate governance, reporting and audit and holding to account those responsible for delivering them. Our work is a cornerstone to public trust and confidence in UK business.
The FRC is underway in a major transformation programme, increasing its impact and influence and building its capability and capacity. Following the Independent Review into the FRC, the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has accepted the recommendation that FRC should be replaced with a new independent regulator the Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA). Under new leadership with a mandate to transform into the ARGA, the FRC has already brought forward many of the recommendations
The incoming Chief People Officer will play a leading role in taking forward the transformation programme, ensuring people strategies, policies and processes are aligned to business objectives and the fast growing organisation, thereby enabling FRC to deliver its important regulatory responsibilities. They will support the business by providing strategic HR input, driving forward organisational capability, and creating a high-performance culture. And for FRC, as the owners of the Corporate Governance Code, they will establish best practice alongside inputting into the development of standards and thought leadership.
This is a key role in forging the organisation’s future. The successful candidate will be a senior strategic HR leader, with experience of working with board level individuals, and expertise across the full spectrum of HR specialisms. They will bring exceptional leadership qualities and interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships within and outside of the organisation. An effective problem solver, comfortable with complex stakeholder accountabilities, the successful candidate will bring a proactive, pragmatic, and innovative approach.
