Valuation Methodology Specialist x3 – IB London – 100-120,000
I am partnered with a multinational corporate and investment bank in their search for 3 Valuation Methodology Specialists to join their new and expanding Valuation Control Group team. This team focuses on a wide-ranging and evolving scope of initiatives, from known valuation and governance issues to areas of changing and emerging market practice.
This role will require vast interaction with Senior Management within Finance, Front Office and Risk Management, and will support the development of a strong valuation framework and the application of consistent valuation methodologies.
Key responsibilities will include:
People Management and Leadership
Leading initiatives, developing and proposing solutions to complex technical challenges or control issues
Working across teams and silos and leveraging existing relationships
Developing and drafting formal policies, technical papers and governance documents
Flexibility and Adaptability
Ability to manage priorities set by the Head of Valuation Methodology accordingly, and to meet crucial deadlines
Experience of regulatory and audit focus from a control and governance perspective
Ability to provide detailed guidance on implementing appropriate controls
Control Framework
Broad understanding of control principles
Responsibilities will include defining and developing practical controls that can be implemented
Knowledge/Experience Required:
Significant experience in a technical valuation, risk or product control related discipline
Strong understanding of current global accounting and regulatory developments pertaining to valuation of financial instruments
Ability to understand complex concepts and effectively challenge peers in Finance, Risk and Business
Excellent people management and leadership skills
Excellent understanding of complex structured products and different models used for valuation
A Bachelor or Masters’ degree in any Finance, Economics or Quantitative related subject
