Trailer Technician 3

The Day & Ross Transportation Group is currently seeking a full-time Trailer Technicians in Brampton, ON.
Please note: Candidates must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Our Trailer Technicians work in a large maintenance facility and are responsible for completing preventative maintenance, pre-inspection maintenance and repairs on break down of all trailers in the Day & Ross fleet.
The fleet consists of van trailer/chassis and converters. The opportunity to troubleshoot/perform maintenance on diesel Shunt trucks is also available. Attention to safety is vital.
To be successful in this role, you will effectively complete the following (not an exhaustive list of responsibilities):
Conducts inspections of trailers, documents and records the findings and reports back to the supervisor.
Operation of company owned yard equipment
Typically completes 5-6 work orders per shift.
Repair van-type trailers:
Tires Trailer axle
Rear walls and doors
Trailer frame and support
Trailer bay and work area cleanup, washing the vehicles, sweeping, etc.
To be qualified for this role, please ensure your resume clearly displays some or all of the following
Minimum grade 12 education
Journeyman certification under the Ontario College of Trades
Experience in maintenance department
Ability to maintain an open line of communication with the shift foreman/supervisor
Experience in maintenance shop is preferred
Experience in truck repair, trailer repair is preferred
Basic computer skills is considered an asset
The working environment can include warehouse/dock setting, garage atmosphere with loud tools, outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions, physical labour including crouching and lifting.
