Using cutting edge technologies, integration techniques and architectural patterns you will be part of the engineering team developing the platform to manage the processing of fraud cases at Barclays.What were looking for:Contributing to the architecture and design of the platformBuilding the platform for preventing and detecting fraudHands-on coding of platform componentsIntegrating the platform into various products of Barclays, such as retail bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, mortgages, loans and merchant acquiringSupporting VP Lead Software Engineers and mentoring BA4 Software EngineersFacilitating and supporting VP Lead Software Engineers to produce positive business outcomes, such as:Reducing the number of customers who receive a poor customer experienceReducing fraud losses for the businessSkills that will help you in the role:Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:Strong Java software engineering backgroundExperience building complex software systems and providing technical leadershipExcellent problem solving and communication skillsBachelors degree (1st or 2:1 honours) in computer science/mathematics/physics/engineering, or strong experience in complex platform-centric software developmentDesirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:Experience in building platforms of microservices and public RESTful APIsExperience with JDK 8/9/10,Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Kafka, MongoDB, Cucumber, Gradle, DockerKnowledge of building business-critical high-performance (20 milliseconds response times) OLTP systems with 5 nines availabilityKnowledge of building resilient and self-healing service-oriented architecturesExperience with the latest open-source tools and technologiesWhere will you be working?Barclays Northampton is an operation of vast scale, with a huge influence and impact on the financial services industry and on the lives of millions of British people.
