Senior Software Development Engineer Product Display Page (PDP)
We are a technology focused retail company hiring BackEnd developer at our London tech HUB
You will be working in one of our autonomous agile teams to create Microservices, APIs and UI Reusable Components that support the 3rd biggest retail website in the UK.
We are looking to hire an established BackEnd engineer to work on our Product Page and Services, we have very interesting technical challenges to overcome and solve. We work with a micro services architecture that is growing for the past 2 years.
In the last year the PDP team have worked tirelessly to build a great product for costumers and a great tech for our developers. We follow best practices for development and always try to achieve the best results.
Typical Technologies in our stack for this role:
Using React, Redux, Docker, Kafka, Redis, Java, SpringBoot. Running our stack in AWS and on-prem, deploying with Jenkins to Mesos & Marathon.
Plenty of opportunities to explore other technologies such as: Kotlin, Node, Python, GraphQL & Scala too.
We keep track of everything using Git, Jira & Confluence and monitor with Kibana, DataDog, etc.
Our tech teams are encouraged to explore, disrupt and adopt new technologies to solve the present and future challenges.
Team task:
Build software that enables business agility with product data & media, understand how good product data can support a great experience for customers.
Challenges we’re excited about tackling:
Build the best APIs and Services to improve the Architecture and cope with the high standards of ArgosTech and demanding objectives of the Product
Enabling Argos to deliver the best quality experience to our customer.
Capitalising on the opportunities created through building our own rich media asset management tools
Understanding our inventory by driving meaningful information from unstructured data such as reviews, descriptions and interactions between users on our site
Reducing and removing the remaining dependencies on legacy technologies
Explore new technologies to prepare for the future
We are looking for people with:
Solid engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high performance production quality code back end. Experience in Java, Spring, Node, Python (at least 2)
Good understanding of Microservice concepts, docker/containers
Deployment tools and configure pipelines. Good understanding or will to grow on Infrastructure and operate as DevOp with the team.
Excellent team player, willing to improve, grow and help others. Experience mentoring team members and not afraid to embrace challenges outside the team.
