QA Engineer Workplace Technology12 Month Fixed Term ContractLondon ITV is the biggest commercial television network in the UK. The QA Engineer role will be responsible for designing and implementing robust quality assurance practices within each of the Workplace Technology Product Teams (Devices, Collaboration, Identity, Unified Comms and Applications). Defining a set of standards and then working with each Product Team to assure that all products, features and changes are released to ITV colleagues with a high degree of quality, thereby driving operational efficiency and customer experience. Workplace Technology is a vital cog in the ITV mission We are more than television. The role will involve a range of responsibilities day-to-day that will include some of the following: Design and implement an automated testing solution to improve efficiency and identify bugs as early as possible Record and track bugs through to resolution Write test plans based on requirements and deliverables Ensure all work products have testing and QA properly scoped at their inception. Test current products and processes and identify and deliver improvements Ensure all releases are put through a full range of regression tests Work with the Product Owners and Delivery Managers to design and implement a quality assurance strategy Work closely with the development team to ensure consistent delivery and approaches across the Devices and Collaboration platforms Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team, identifying constraints and working to improve team throughput and productivity Develop and monitor performance metrics for all stages of the development and delivery process. Work with developers to identify root causes for faulty deliverables Establish metrics for quality data to evidence improvements Working with the Product Owners, Identify and implement KPIs for quality assurance taking ownership for Management reports and key updates. There is a diverse set of skills required to perform this role and we would expect candidates to display some of the following skills & traits to be successful: Demonstrable experience of working in software development and/or quality assurance. Experience of agile product development Experience of setting up automated testing practices from the ground up Experience of working with and/or developing for cloud based technologies Experience of developing for one or more of macOS, Windows and iOS. Experience of working within the media industry desired but not essential Customer focused mindset Inquisitive and a creative problem solver to design scenarios that go beyond the obvious Driven to see identified bugs and issues through to successful resolution with the development teams. Excellent communication skills to articulate and summarise issues, ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Able to collect non-functional requirements and convert to performance test plans and testing strategies. Able to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative environment with shifting priorities Not afraid to experiment and innovate with new technologies and ways of working. Needs to be proactive, flexible and self-motivated, as well as capable of working on multiple activities at once, with minimal supervision. Use data as a means of supporting assertions and recommendations Work collaboratively with existing, high performing, product teams, bringing fresh ideas to discussions and championing new ways of working Be aware of industry best practices and keep abreast of new developments within the industry.
