We go the extra mile to make sure we can move millions of people safely and reliably, everywhere around the world, every single day. Join us at Bombardier, and youll be part of an international team, sharing knowledge and experience across countries and cultures to push technological possibilities. In the UK, Derby is a global hub for Bombardier. As the home of the hugely successful AVENTRA platform, it is a lead engineering and production site and has been responsible for engineering design for some of the worlds most exciting trains. It is here that you will help us to connect communities, cities and businesses, enabling them to get wherever they need to be. If youre motivated to make your own progress, you can move your career in any direction.
We are looking to recruit a Modelling Engineer for our Global CoE Vehicle Architecture Modelling and Simulation team
Role is located in Derby UK
Your role
You will be a part of the CoE Vehicle Architecture Modelling and Simulation in charge of Product Development, and contribute to the system modelling and simulation activities for all the product families and products developed within the Product Engine division.
You will develop in back office As Specified and As Designed models accordingly to the specification from the Simulation Coordinator to express the Functional Architecture needs in consistency with the validation strategy of the Product Families, by following the process, methodology and rules defined by the BPO and Modelling Tool Key Users.
You will contribute to the development of our train digital simulator, intended to check at the earliest the functional design of the train, by carrying over the existing methodology.
Your responsibilities
Create models As Specified and As Designed for each building-block with a high level of representativeness
Integrate the models together by using the Train Configurator and following the methodology
Verify the consistency of the new model created through simulations (unitary and integrated test)
Generate models documentation for each building-block in his scope
Generate automated tests scripts to allow simulation execution by the Simulation Coordinator
Execute simulations for tests specifications and procedures based on automated tests scripts
Perform all the simulations requested from the Product Family intended for its Functional Architecture or ROQ investigations
Generate test reports of performed simulations
Use the Train Configurator database to derivate models for other projects in the Product Family
Use systematically the models for non-regression analysis of the Functional Change Request
Masters in Electrical/Electronic sciences, or Automation Degree required.
Experienced user of ControlBuild
Experience on functional or sub-system design areas (railway desired)
Experience with other simulation and modelling tools (LabView, MatLab)
Experience with block diagrams and reading schematics; good interpretation of electric drawings
Very good working experience in an international environment
Visionary thinking and able to implement strategic initiatives
