The company is the largest manufacturer of industrial trucks in Europe, the second-largest producer of forklifts globally and a leading provider of warehouse automation.Principal Accountabilities:Specific Responsibilities• To create cost effective structural solutions in relation to material handling systems.• To assist mechanical design engineers develop system layouts within building and services constraints. • To provide system integration drawings and technical specifications.• To provide loading calculations for the detail design of structures.• To give advance notice of materials required to purchasing department.• To approve and issue specialist supplier/subcontractor designs and details for manufacture and construction.• To provide access solutions for maintenance and egress in-line with local regulations.• To create manufacturing drawings and parts lists for equipment within scope of supply.• To assist in the design and procurement of ASRS and DMS racking systems.General Responsibilities• To liaise with sales project managers and solutions teams during sales phase.• To liaise with mechanical engineers, project managers, customer and sub-contractors during order execution phase.• To liaise with and provide technical information to any department so entitled, i.e. purchasing, projects, service, spares.Knowledge & Experience Required• Essential:  HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, civil, structural)• Desirable: Graduate with degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline• Desirable: A solid foundation of structural design, experience of working with steel structures inside warehouses. • Previous experience in a similar role• Previous use of CAD, Inventor or similar software.• Previous use of structural design software.Special ConditionsTo support the geographical spread of the business there will be the need to support activities across the EMEA region and also Globally.
