Access Properties York, is a residential Letting Agents specialising in student accommodation. We are seeking a full time , or part time could be considered, Lettings Assistant to assist a husband and wife team of this family company with the day to day running of the business, together with a Lettings Manager. Our valued current employee is sadly leaving us after 7 years due to personal reasons and we are now seeking two employees as we wish to lessen our commitment in the medium term. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: -Taking enquiries and advising prospective tenants -Booking (and occasionally conducting) property viewings -Organising keys for viewings and contractors -Dealing with repair reports and scheduling contractors -Ensuring gas and electrical safety certificates are up to date -Chasing rent arrears -Drafting and sending tenancy agreements -Occasionally conducting inspections -Keeping office spreadsheets/software up to date -Keeping the office clean and tidy -Liaising with landlords as and when required -Dealing with complaints as and when they arise The ideal candidate should be highly organised, calm under pressure, patient, polite and friendly. Experience in a similar role and a good knowledge of York would be advantageous, but not necessary. However living local to York, a good telephone manner, the ability to work independently and competence using Microsoft Office is essential and having a driving licence would be preferable. You will be expected to hit the ground running, but training will be available where required. The basic working hours are Monday-Friday 9.00am 5.00pm with occasional overtime. The duties and salary can initially be tailored to the successful applicants experience, so applications are welcome from any individual who believes they can contribute to the business. For an ambitious candidate there is an opportunity to progress in their career and take on more responsibility with experience and the salary will increase accordingly. However we are appointing a Lettings Manager and the Lettings Assistant role may appeal to candidates wanting less responsibility. Twenty days holiday are offered in addition to the statutory bank holidays and interviews will take place at our office on Hull Road. Ideally we are looking to appoint people with an early start date but this can be flexible for the right candidates. If you have the necessary skills and wish to apply for the job (or require further information), please email your CV including details of current or latest pay to liz@apyork.com
