We currently have an opening for an insurance associate (1-5 PQE) with solid experience to join our growing team in London. The successful candidate will have experience of a range skill sets, including advising on both policy coverage and the defence of professional indemnity insurance claims involving a broad range of professionals including solicitors, surveyors, barristers, actuaries, accountants and trustees.  Coverage work includes financial institutions, directors” and officers” liability, professional liability, cyber, warranty & indemnity and reinsurance.   Qualifications:   A qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with  1-5 years post qualification experience.  The PQE level/s identified here is indicative only.  Mayer Brown would welcome excellent applicants regardless of PQE who believe they meet the requirements of the role outlined in the job description and wish to apply for the position. Key requirements: Strong academic history; minimum grade of 2:1 or equivalent; Experience in insurance (and ideally also reinsurance) coverage disputes;Experience in professional liability defence work: previous experience of defending claims against lawyers, accountants and chartered surveyors and other professionals is desirable; Experience from a highly ranked City or equivalent practice or team; Excellent people skills and a good, clear communication style; Ability to work effectively within an established, close-knit team; Demonstrate ability to confidently interact with clients and develop business pro-actively; A commercial and pragmatic outlook; Be self-motivated and possess a very pro-active attitude; Candidates that have gained increased post qualification experience will also be expected to demonstrate ability to manage their caseload with less supervision as well as the supervision/management of junior lawyers.
