Blueprint Recruitment Solutions are representing a leading company in the UK Water Sector, who have an immediate opportunity for an ICA Technician (Instrumentation, Controls & Automation) to join them on a permanent basis in Oxfordshire.
The primary role for the Technician is to ensure all equipment associated with the sewage treatment works are running safely and efficiently.
The role comes with a competitive salary, van, tools, PPE as well as a generous benefits package (which includes 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and an excellent pension scheme which allows up-to 18% of employee / employer contributions.)
Inspect, maintain, test or repair SCADA and associated PLCs, instrumentation, control and automation equipment.
Follow robust maintenance plans as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs.
Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to relevant standards and to diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants.
Identify and report follow on work or areas for improvement and deliver cost effective development to assets and systems.
Carry out instrumentation, control and automation maintenance on a variety of wastewater assets including planned maintenance and defect maintenance.
Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers where necessary.
Investigation into plant failures and the implementation of repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid interruptions to the process.
Conduct risk assessments and create appropriate method statements.
Provide specialist technical advice with up to date technical knowledge.
Provide training support for technical trainees and support project development.
Qualified to HNC level in an electrical discipline.
A good practical understanding of operational plant and control systems is essential.
Have an understanding of Wonderware, ClearSCADA, relay logic and PLCs which will include management and programming.
Ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams as well as previous experience of inverter drives.
Physical fitness with the ability to work in confined spaces.
Have a full driving licence as it will be necessary to travel between sites.
Flexibility to work on an out of hours’ rota when necessary.
