Strategic HR Advisor

Our Major client City of Edinburgh Council is looking for a Strategic HR Advisor, this role is to work with internal and external stakeholders to assist in the development of policies, practices and processes in HR disciplines and align to the organisational needs.

The Main task in your role would be:

– Assist in a range of projects and key initiatives ensuring outcomes are delivered within a time, cost, quality framework.
– Assist a range of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex outcomes and major organisational change across the council.
– Conduct benchmarking, research and analysis, internally and externally, to assist in the development of robust recommendations for process/practice/policy development
– Provide general support across the team to ensure delivery of the HR Plan and business as usual initiatives.
– Ensure all deliverables are compliant with any relevant legislation, aligned to council policies and values, and integrated with HR and Organisational Strategy.
– Assist in the maintenance, analysis and presentation of organisational data and information to best support and inform decision making, proposed actions etc.
– Assist in the preparation and content of reports, strategic plans, , briefings, presentations, FOIs and other relevant documents for Council meetings, external agencies, senior officers and other key stakeholders.
– Identify opportunities for continual improvement and demonstrate effective management of change within a complex internal and external environment.
– Support the Council's democratic process, including Executive Committees and Neighbourhood Partnerships, meetings of the Council and Elected Members etc.

– Manage their own time

Qualifications required

For the post you require

– Qualified to HND or SCQF8 in a relevant discipline or able to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience
– Evidence of continuous professional development
– CIPD membership is not essential but would be desirable
