Overview: Transformation Programme
Capita are looking for a Finance Analyst to join the Smarter Faster Programme. The transformation programme is driving organisation, process and technology change across Capita. It is the largest internal programme ever undertaken by Capita and has high visibility with senior Executives.
Programme Financial Analyst role:
You will work alongside the Programme Financial Controller, who is responsible for managing the programme financials for a budget of circa 50m. Given the size of the programme, financials will be under a high level of scrutiny from Board Executives as well as the Group CFO. The ability to effectively communicate programme financial performance and drivers of variances is a key skill. There will be opportunities throughout the project for the candidate to participate in wider programme delivery activities, dependent on capacity and skills of the candidate.
Role Responsibilities
Initially the role will be focused two projects which are in their early stages. The candidate will manage the project financials for weekly/monthly reporting.
Key ongoing responsibilities are:
Delivering an accurate and timely month end close and completing the monthly management reporting process
Working with Project Leads to derive accurate project forecasts
Supporting monthly reforecasting activity and the annual business planning exercise
Cost centre management including variance analysis and appropriate revenue recognition
Balance sheet reconciliations with specific emphasis on working capital management
Validation and reconciliation of supplier invoices
Support with ad hoc requests and the wider programme
The role is full time and will be based in Central London. A small amount of travel between Central London offices is expected.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Part Qualified Accountant ACA/CIMA/ACCA with experience in a finance role
A fast learner, with strong finance and analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively both written and orally with finance and non-finance professionals
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and financial modelling skills an advantage
Proven ability to deliver to tight reporting deadlines
Ability to be self-motivated, use initiative and work independently as well as take direction
Have a conscientious attitude towards the accuracy and timeliness of key deliverables
Remain composed in a fast moving environment when challenging deadlines are on the horizon
Desirable:
Experience in using SAP and Axiom management reporting tools
Project Accounting experience
