Our singular focus is to help security experts, clinical professionals and high-tech developers solve real-world problems and issues.  Provide management direction of all phases of in-house/outsourced manufacturing for a product (or product line) from new product introduction to completion. Functions as the principal lead with design, manufacturing, quality and test as the product(s) move to completion and distribution. Ensures defined Production processes and documentation will result in products shipped that conform to customer specifications and quality goals. Formulates and executes medium and long-term plans to improve production processes, reduce costs and increase yields Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the functionResponsible for all aspects of the engineering function including technical, development, design, quality and commercial. Provide leadership and direction to the engineering team, coordinating and directing projects, making detailed SMART plans to accomplish company goals and direct the integration of all technical activities Take responsibility for the NPI process including establishing priorities and ensuring deadlines are met for production schedules. Provide stage gate introduction of product(s) for all NPI’s and ensure feedback is appropriately acted and reported upon Carry out all elements of the NPI process when acting as lead engineer on particular projects. Acts swiftly to changes and implements those changes accordingly.Responsible for the Engineering Change process including establishing priorities and ensuring deadlines are met for production schedules, along with undertaking all relevant processes whilst acting quickly to any required changesOversee the process engineering function and establish process priorities for the engineers in conjunction production.Assist, monitor and mentor the engineers in all projects and work priorities to achieve required deadlines, ensuring that full accountability is maintained Ownership for design projects when they form part of a NPI. Work closely with senior engineers, ensuring deadlines and priorities are clear.Where capability permits, carry out design projects within the NPI process.Identify key products and core customers where efficiencies can justifiably be improved and ensure all engineering personnel understand and achieve their cost saving targets Provide engineering support to customers as and when required, ensuring accurate record keeping of time spent is recorded (whether chargeable or not)Assist Commercial with quotations by providing accurate and considered assembly times along with detailed NRE requirements Maintain engineering procedures and works instructions and ensure change history is kept for all products.Attend Management and customer meetings as required and provide reports as requested.Manage the department ensuring it runs to run smoothly dealing with any people issuesUphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and ConductIt is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problemDuties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business. Ideally educated to HND, BSc level or above preferably with a Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree or a highly demonstrable engineering / technical background, Proven experience of electronic/electro-mechanical manufacturing with a technical understanding and working knowledge of PCBA manufacturingProven ability to read and understand manufacturing data, mechanical drawingsProven experience in external and internal customer engagement Experience of project management in a manufacturing environmentAbility to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team engineersStrong MS Office skills OSI Systems, Inc. has three operating divisions: (a) Security, providing security and inspection systems, turnkey security screening solutions and related services; (b) Healthcare, providing patient monitoring, diagnostic cardiology and anesthesia systems; and (c) Optoelectronics and Manufacturing, providing specialized electronic components and electronic manufacturing services for original equipment manufacturers with applications in the defense, aerospace, medical and industrial markets, among others.
