Our client is a Newcastle-under-Lyme based manufacturer of world-renowned domestic drinking water filtration systems. They are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and highly self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Quality and Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to generate innovative ideas and concepts and be able to transform these into detailed designs taking them through to manufacture.
You will develop engineering solutions for both current and new products, from feasibility through to production and will prepare detailed drawings and Bill of Materials, maintain technical files & documentation and arrange associated prototype parts and materials as required. Knowledge of resolving engineering problems and "hands-on" practical mechanical experience is essential for this role.
As part of a multi-discipline technical team, you will be supporting quality and production and product development activities, running test programmes and analysing test data, and ensuring that all designs comply with current legislation and company standards. The undertaking of non-engineering tasks with a technical content will also be required within this role.

The ability to work under pressure both independently and as part of a team are critical for success in this role and exceptional communication skills at all levels are essential.
HND in Mechanical Engineering
previous 3D CAD experience is essential, preferably using Autodesk Inventor.
You will demonstrate proven practical mechanical experience & abilities
excellent organisational skills and a methodical manner to ensure the successful management of multiple projects at the same time.
Experience in new product design and development
Experienced in managing projects from concept to implementation.
Able to communicate comfortably at all levels
Developing new designs, productivity opportunities and quality improvement initiatives
Planning and managing multiple design/development projects
Defining measurable targets and motivating development team to achieve goals
Identifying risks and promoting solutions (FMEA)
Testing to international standards and developing engineering test procedures
CAD support of existing and new components and housings
Quality control checks and improvement measures
Product build specification
Producing new concept and prototype components and housings
Physical testing of product using international standards and developing engineering test methods
Building relationships and communicating with internal/external customers
