The starting salary for this role is £24,758.89 per annum for working 33 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, pro-rata to £31,262

Surrey's Access to Education (A2E) service is expanding our Student Support Team and we are now seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join us on a term-time basis as Higher Level Education Assistants .

Our roles are offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis initially, and we're open to reduced working hours for the right candidate. 

We currently have opportunities available in North East, North West and South West Surrey. Our office bases are as follows

  • Quadrant Court, 35 Guildford Road, Woking, GU22 7QQ

  • About the Team

    A2E is a dynamic, interim service that provides vital support to children and young people who are not accessing their full statutory entitlement of education. Our students often have complex special educational needs, mental wellbeing challenges and may exhibit challenging behaviour. Current pupil needs include SEMH, ASD, ADHD, PDA, SLD, SpLD and LAN.

    About the Role 

    We are now specifically looking for experienced and creative people who can provide individual and small group teaching to students aged 5-16 who are currently out of school. 

    Shortlisting Criteria

    To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and personal statement should clearly evidence the following:

  • Proven track record of supporting a diverse range of complex SEN needs (may include ELSA and/or EBSNA training/experience)
  • Ability to build supportive and nurturing relationships with vulnerable young people
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Thrive on cultivating strong relationships with partners and the wider community
  • Substantial experience of working with vulnerable children and young people
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience of using a Virtual Learning Environment
  • As part of the role you will need to travel throughout the area, so a full driving license and access to a car are essential.
