You”ll work closely with our clients and committed to achieving outstanding results in a stimulating and quality-driven environment Wood is recruiting for EC&I engineers preferably with particular skills and expertise in hardware Equipment Qualification. The roles are in support of our Nuclear business with openings based primarily in the North west (Knutsford / Warrington) however other locations will be considered.   We are interested to here from Engineers with varying levels of skills and expertise for assignment against Engineer, Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer level roles. In addition to Hardware related EQ skills, Wood are also looking for individuals with SMART device and PLC qualification experience to bolster our already significant capability.   Key Responsibilities  Rationalisation of a variety of C&I devices into family groups based on functionality, complexity and priorityAligning device families to hardware qualifications requirements by assessing relevant IEC standards (61513, RCC-E, CINIF etc)Production of individual EQ Plans and the development and implementation of complete EQ programmes of work (senior level only)Execution of relevant SMART device qualification tools and techniques including supplier auditing, gap analysis, development of pragmatic conclusions and the ability to recommend  appropriate compensating measures. Potential to administer the setup, control and witnessing of EQ testing across a number of workshops and laboratory’s Produce or provide guidance to, the production of EQ test reports including   General Responsibilities  Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and other safety case supporting documentationDevelop Requirements specifications, technical specifications and other design related documentation for C&I projects.Perform and analyse discipline specific calculations for system studiesDevelop and review discipline specific engineering drawingsEnsure successful execution of high quality engineering work to time, quality, budget and customer satisfactionDemonstrate focus on customer care, committed to delivering on promisesManage own work within associated project budgetsAnticipates technical risks associated with own work and discusses how to manage these with Responsible Engineer or Team LeaderSupport the development of proposals and tenders by providing accurate estimates of workMaintain and develop successful working relationships with engineers at own level within client organisationsContinually develop technical knowledge and competence in field of expertise, and seeks to develop skill portfolioWorks in a safe and sustainable manner and strives for continuous improvement in these areas Either time served apprentice, Degree qualified engineer or demonstrable expertise in the above areasMaintains a developing technical knowledge and experience in other technical disciplines, (e.g. materials science, mechanical engineering) to aid delivery of an EQ roleChartered or Incorporated engineer or ambitions, ability to achieveFamiliar with common engineering drawings and design documentationFamiliar with general types of control and safety instrument devicesMaintains a developing knowledge of products and services available in the marketplace to support design conceptsMaintains and develops knowledge, capability and competence in latest engineering standards and techniquesIs proactive and autonomous whilst understanding limits of knowledge and expertiseExpertise of process systems or C&I design an advantagePrevious expertise of the nuclear industry or highly regulated industry is an advantage but not essential.Knowledge of Civil nuclear plant systems, structures and component and associated design and assessment guidelines an advantageKnowledge of SMART instruments, Software and Hardware Equipment Qualification techniques or Cyber Security an advantageIs flexible to travel to various sites around the UKIs a UK national or is able to gain UK security clearance to at least BPSS plus CTC. What do you get?
