Head Resourcing is currently recruiting for a leading investment company in Edinburgh that is going through a period of exceptional growth and is looking to expand its infrastructure and datacentre teams. They are currently hiring for a Datacentre Supervisor / Manager that will take ownership of their two main datacentres in Edinburgh and Bathgate, being responsible for ensuring the effective management and forward planning of all datacentre assets to support their ongoing expansion across the globe. It is envisaged you will come from a background of previously managing large-scale datacentres – managing both IT infrastructure and non-IT infrastructure (such as fire suppression, building management systems, power generation, and cooling systems), any experience with Schneider Struxureware will be hugely advantageous. Essential:
– Manage the workload and priorities of a team of analysts
– Performs site inspections and monitors the BMS systems for alarms within the Data Centre
– Liaises with vendors to ensure regular preventative maintenance is carried out
– Provide support to other IS functions and the wider organisation
– Maintain and administer the Data Centre critical infrastructure across technology and operations
– Be responsible for managing all audit review, planning, and execution – across multiple timeframes (quarterly, bi-annual, annual)
– Manage and report expenditure within the Data Centres
– Liaises with 3rd parties and facilities teams to manage access to secure IT areas
– Ensure resilience and fault tolerance across the Data Centre critical infrastructure
– Provide project management as required
– Take part in on call & shift rota
Essential:
– Ability to rack, build, cable & document IT equipment within the Data Centre
– Understanding of data cabling & associated standards
– Maintenance and support of critical infrastructure including PDU’s, Fire Suppression, UPS’s, Generators, Cooling Systems, CCTV & BMS systems.
Desirable:
– Certified Data Centre Technician Professional (CDCTP)
– Experience with Schneider Struxureware Data Centre Expert
– Experience with Schneider Struxureware Data Centre Operations
– Experience with Schneider Netbotz system
