Our client, a fast-growing property developer and lettings business based in Manchester city centre, are actively seeking an experienced Company Accountant to join their team in Manchester.
To be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller in ensuring that the Company’s accounting processes and procedures are implemented and improved, and that the accounts are managed in a timely, efficient and compliant manner. Be responsible for the day to day cash management of the business, managing the accounts department and providing proactive support to the Senior Management
Preparation of Management and Financial Accounting ensuring proper compliance with accounting procedures
To provide accountancy support to the wider group in producing financial accounts and forecasts
To ensure Statutory compliance and filings, including VAT
To continuously monitor key controls with focus on cash flow. Manage company and project cashflow.
To Manage members of the accounts team
To oversee and ensure compliance of the company payroll process
To manage Intercompany transactions
To manage invoicing and maintain ledgers on SAGE
To manage and liaise with suppliers regarding invoice payments
To communicate routinely with the lettings and property management to help ensure financial reporting is accurate and timely
Act as point of contact with the company’s auditors in the preparation of annual financial accounts
Self-driven, with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality delivery. A forward planner, mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing at all levels and takes responsibility and accepts accountability. Able to get on with others and be pro-active, flexible and able to manage their own work independently. They will be able to begin the role immediately with little training
Specific Job Skills:
Part or fully qualified with an accounting qualification, e.g. ACCA, FCCA, ACA, ICAI or similar (minimum AAT qualified). Ability to work under pressure and towards strict deadlines. Ability to communicate at a high level, build relationships and develop processes.
To have excellent skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email, Working knowledge of SAGE essential
People-management skills, with a ‘team player’ outlook.
