Responsible for the expertise of large High and Medium Energy engineering projects within the Cargo Division, while establishing and maintaining cost effective engineering processes and systems for design and product safety, to maximise efficiency and performance. Manages engineering project costs, ensuring all new products are delivered and achieved on time. Working with R & D to identify and introduce new technologies to raise technical methods and standards for future strategy. Develop new product introduction programs in accordance with the organisation’s objectives and ensure that these are delivered on time and to budget.Control of all Engineering resource within the Integrated Project Team during new product development.Working with Product Management to develop realistic New Product Goals.Working closely with the R & D group foe timely introduction of new technologies. Transition of new products from the design phase into main factory production.Contribute to the development of business strategy and plans.Maintain awareness of current market, economic and technology trends to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.Manage the Engineering project budget to ensure spending does not exceed forecast.In conjunction with senior management team contribute to identifying alternative markets and adjacent space opportunities to extend the product portfolio’s market reach. Manage the design process during the initial concept in R&D, through the development process, prototype build and eventual product launch.Participate, contribute and review the design to technically influence the product to ensure it is fit for purpose and of the correct quality.Control the specification of the product through Design Review, Validation, Verification meetings.Communicate to Senior Management through Project Reviews, or other means, updates and snapshots of the Project including highlighting issues in a timely manner.Manage the following aspects of the Project:Project planProduct requirements and specification Test procedures and work instructionsProduct manuals and test reportsConfiguration control through AgileWork with the Physics team along with mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineers to bring the products to production on time and in budget. Work with the Configuration Management Team ensuring all BoM’s are prepared and up to date prior to the launch of the product. Provide feedback to Product Management regarding the status and expected delivery of products to the market along with specifications and expected budgets.
