An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client, an established housing provider in the West Midlands for a Temporary Central Income Recovery Officers role on an initial three month contract with Full Time Hours.

Please Note: There is also an opportunity to go Temp to Perm, should you excel in your contract.

The Pay rate is £11.00 PAYE Plus Holiday Pay OR £14.00 on Umbrella/LTD.

As a Central Income Recovery Officer, you will be required to support the Rents and charges Co-ordinator deliver an effective service, maximising income and dealing with Housing and recharges debt whilst protecting vulnerable customers.

You will be required to handle telephone calls from customers, Local Offices, Housing Benefit Offices and other departments dealing with rent enquiries and providing support to front line staff.

Part of your role will be to input data as required relating to Housing Benefit and personal payments.

You will need to undertake regular thorough ongoing account monitoring, inputting and updating.

Key responsibilities as part of this role are as follows:

Input information required from Housing Benefit Decision Notices.

Handle calls resolving rent enquiries over the telephone.

Answer enquiries relating to Universal Credit, Housing Benefits and rent account issues.

Record all contacts on the Housing Management System of all arrangements made with customers to repay debt.

Undertake telephone interviews with customers who have rent and other debt.

Liaise with the Co-ordinator when preparing Rent Arrears Escalation letters, Recharge Letters and Notices of Seeking Possessions and other notices. Maximise rental Income and Housing and welfare Benefit uptake.

Proactively negotiate repayment plans with customers on arrears.

This is an office based role within a customer service setting, you will not be required to present at court level.

Excellent communication and written skills are essential alongside generic housing management experience particularly around rent arrears.

A basic DBS will be needed for this position.
