CAD Technician (Civil)Location: Belfast
We are looking for a Civil Engineering CAD Technician to support our growing Water design team.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team you will contribute to feasibility studies, design, planning and procurement of Water/Waste Water treatment plants, pumping stations, water pipelines, reservoirs, as well as other smaller scale projects. This may also include working with other in-house disciplines including Buildings and Structures, with scope to expand your skill set into other technical areas such as surveys, analysis and project coordination.
You will join our Belfast office at an exciting time as our portfolio of work increases with a broadening client base and seeing considerable growth in both the current and future workload. Skills and Experience: Essential Requirements
BTec or HND in Construction/Structures/Civil Engineering Related Subject
Over 2 years industry experience
AutoCAD Proficient
Generic CAD Standards
CAD Template Files
xRefs (loading & unloading)
Co-Ordinates & Grid References (World Co-ordinates)
PDF software and revision workflows including mark-ups
An understanding of Design Development Workflows and Key Project Deliverables
Computer literacy including MS Outlook (emails), MS Word, MS Excel
Desirable Requirements
Experience with OS Mapping/Site Layouts
Understanding of basic engineering principles
Pipe material selection & development including pipe diameters
Surveying Experience (on site)
Knowledge of 3-D Modelling & working models
Knowledge of BIM
Knowledge of Revit
Experience of Reinforced Concrete Detailing & Scheduling
Experience in Draughting of Structural and Civil Engineering Projects
Working towards IEng with an appropriate Institute.
A full driving licence
Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the Principal Engineer in the delivery of water/wastewater engineering projects:
Assisting in developing drawings for various projects
Pipeline layout and detailing
Bid Preparation,
Updating the Water CAD Libraries
CAD specification and tender preparation
Be able to ensure compliance with current industry standards
The Individual:
The ideal candidate will be confident, articulate and possess good communication skills with a desire to progress in the field of Civil Engineering design.
