Buyer job (12 month minimum contract), Co Armagh, 25,000 + Commission Scheme
Your new company
You will be joining a fully established organisation who operate as a UK market leader within the specialist industry they operate within. You will be joining an established team of procurement specialists on a full time basis to manage purchasing activities for up to 6 product categories in a fast paced environment that is continually developing.
Your new role
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for managing an approx. 3 Million spend on set categories by working with global suppliers in the Far East/ China and Europe to consistently implement process improvements and successfully negotiate cost savings. You will be responsible for planning and implementing global and national sourcing activities across the procurement team to improve product pricing and quality whilst monitoring supplier performance to provide key information on market conditions for maintaining competitive advantage and succession growth. Also, you will have no direct reports but will actively communicate and liaise effectively with all departments including Commercial Finance and Supply Chain with targets to achieve KPI’s on annual cost reduction.
What you’ll need to succeed
Your previous experience working within or leading a successful purchasing or supply chain team along with examples of strategic outsourcing and negotiating prices with global suppliers will lead to success. Also, you will show examples of how to manage a set category of materials/products with the ability to communicate purchasing forecasts effectively across all departments. Also, a qualification with CIPS/working towards or negotiation courses are not essential but highly advantageous for success in this role.
