A really exciting opportunity for someone with experience or interest in attractions/travel & tourism/sport & leisure PR to help promote the visitor attractions of the former Olympic park. The parkincludesthe ultimate white water adventure at the White Water Centre, mountain bike trails andthe Olympic BMX track at the Lee Valley VeloPark andHockey and Tennis Centres. Other park attractions include ice skating, horse riding, golf, marinas and campsites!
Last year the attractions had more than 2 million visitors and my client is now looking for a Press OfficerSenior PRExecutive with big ideas to increase visitor numbers and further establish them as a world class destination.
The role is based inEnfield, North London, and you MUST have a car asyou will occasionallybe required to travel to either the Lee Valley VeloPark onQueen Elizabeth Olympic Parkin east London or to the White Water Centre in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire (travel costs fully reimbursed).
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-4years Press OfficerSenior PR Executive (AM level)experience andideally, but not essentially some consumersport & leisurevisitor attractionstourism experience.
You will have a strong news sense, be a great story teller with a passion for selling in features and stories across a range of media contacts including broadcast, nationals, consumer, b2b and online.
Able to create and implement effective PR campaigns which maximise media coverage.
Able to devise and implement innovative and high profile press and PR campaigns. This includes assessing opportunities, working out objectives, audiences, messages and strategies; proactively liaising with third parties and other areas of the park to maximise opportunities; getting plans agreed; generating and distributing press material, responding efficiently to reactive media enquiries.
Able to spot and successfully follow up media opportunities (columns, regular features etc.).
Able to research, write and edit communications materials such as press releases, fact sheets and advertorials. To manage the news content on the website and seek opportunities to maximise web and social media as a means of promoting the organisation.
