A unique opportunity to join the South, Central and West Commissioning Support unit (SCW CSU), part of the NHS, as a Senior Technical Analyst within the Networks team, this opportunity allows the right individual to become an integral part of our exciting future. South, Central and West CSU IT Services team manage an environment that supports the delivery of information technology to around 30,000 NHS staff working in Clinical Commissioning Groups, General practices and community based healthcare settings.
We Are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who will be responsible for contributing to the provision of an efficient, effective, high quality, professional Network Operations capability that continues to meet all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of an efficient, effective, high quality, professional Network Operations capability that continues to meet all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation. The post holder will also be responsible for the performance of Network Operations, the wider IT Services community and SCW CSU by actively engaging with peers.
The holder of the role will be expected to be heavily involved in technical discussions based around, but not limited to, knowledge of the following:
The management and operations of network devices
Specific skills in maintaining Switches and Firewalls
Documentation/monitoring/installation of existing and new infrastructures moperational practices
By applying your expert technical skills alongside critical thinking, judgement and decision making, you will be capable of determining and recommending solutions to solve multifaceted challenges and use personable skills to communicate, negotiate and influence a variety of stakeholders. This will combine with your ability to strategically plan, manage and implement an extensive range of highly complex integrated programmes of work through managing available resources.

The role holder will be based in one of our main SCW CSU IT Services in Bristol, however there may be travel to meetings across our area and out other main IT sites of Devizes or Portsmouth. The role holder will work closely with the other areas of the technical operations team and also the architecture team.
