Role Overview
An Account Director (AD) provides the experience, knowledge and skills to deliver the vital role of day-to-day responsibility for the profitability, success and growth of their clients.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of designated accounts to ensure the delivery of a high standard of work, managing account teams to maintain high standards and outstanding service on time and on budget. 
A key partner to senior managers for accounts and new business activity, the Account Director will ensure the accurate and regular reporting to the senior managers on activity, results and profitability of accounts.  A key element of the role is the Account Director growing into the role of a first-class strategic partner to clients.
Playing a proactive and leading supportive role in new business development is key to this role, including the development of proposals and involvement in pitches.
The position carries formal accountability for a designated client portfolio to the approximate value of £500,000 and for developing new business, reporting to the senior managers on activity, results and profitability. In addition to the competencies and responsibilities expected of an Account Director, an AD will possess the following
Key skills and experience
  • The candidate will have substantial experience of bringing consumer engagement ideas and activations to corporate brands.
  • The candidate will have excellent knowledge of the portioned coffee market in the UK and global from a consumer, corporate and B2B perspective and be able to help clients in this area navigate a complex stakeholder and issues environment.
  • The candidate will have experience working with clients in the agricultural sector; specifically dairy and meat farming
  • The candidate will have experience working with clients in the health sector, with specific nutrition and health education experience
  • The candidate will have sound knowledge of the UK business media landscape and strong media contacts within restaurants, agriculture and FMCG relevant sectors
  • The candidate will have experience in managing and developing campaigns for both global and multi-market clients, for consumer and corporate brands
  • The candidate will have experience in managing a busy reactive press office and responding to issues and crisis within the areas of sustainability and recycling
  • The candidate will have strong experience working as part of an integrated communications team, alongside other agencies such as advertising, media buying, digital and creative
  • The candidate will ideally have a master’s degree in international relations
